E-Cover: Creating wealth from waste
E-Cover is a Senegalese structure created in 2020 and which is active in the recycling and revalorization of waste.
Co-founded by Yaye Souadou FALL and Khady Diallo, the startup is active in the recycling of tires that it transforms into rubber aggregates, tiles, shoe soles and floor coverings for companies, households, sports complexes, schools and town halls.
The idea of recycling tires started very early with very basic equipment, namely meat grinders. The first investment was to buy 20 mincers to increase the production capacity.
After 6 years of reflection and project studies, E-Cover was born and developed into a formalized and viable structure. Supported by the WIC (Women Investment Club), E-Cover now has a production plant with state-of-the-art industrial recycling equipment located in the industrial zone of Dakar on a surface of 1600 m2.
With its 29 collection points in Dakar, tire recycling allows E-Cover to market shredded and granulated tires, iron and even nylon. Equipped with an internal laboratory, E-Cover strives to produce calibrated and quality granulate that meets international standards and the structure is in the process of obtaining FIFA certification to gain more market share in the synthetic turf sector.
E-cover is the first company active in the field of tire recycling in West Africa with a production capacity of 20 tons per month. The structure now counts among its loyal customers the Senegalese cement company SOCOCIM and other contractors specializing in the construction of artificial turf soccer fields.
