Kitambaa: facilitating access to sanitary napkins.
Kitambaa is a social enterprise specialized in menstrual health and hygiene.
Created in 2019, the structure tries to provide an adapted solution to the problems encountered by Senegalese girls and women in relation to access to basic needs such as sanitary napkins and the economic dimension of the problem.
Kitambaa provides solutions to raise awareness on menstrual hygiene, but also offers accessible products on the market with the establishment of a production unit of washable sanitary napkins within the reach of Senegalese scholarships. Indeed, the structure seeks to create value while impacting on social causes.
The future production unit will be installed in the special economic zone of the city of Sandiara on a surface of 2500 m2, accompanied by a training center and office space. Once production has started, the selling price of the kits will be even more accessible to women and an effort will also be made on the packaging to have an environmentally friendly product.
