Safe global: the very first surgical mask production unit in Senegal.
Safe Global Business is a company created in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic to contribute to the response to the disease and to preserve the health of the population in Senegal. Safe Global Business is positioned as the very first surgical mask production unit in Senegal.
With the pandemic, the general observation was that the masks were imported from abroad and with a quality defect. Safe Global Business made a large investment to purchase a mask production machine from China, which was then certified by AFNOR Senegal. “The machine was imported in full covid-19 to meet the high demand and we ended up with a production capacity of 50,000 masks per day,” says Ndèye Fatou DIENG.
The strength of Safe Global Business is that it produces masks with an integrated filter, unlike other locally produced masks or some imported masks. The company’s clientele is composed of public hospitals, private clinics, but also companies that trust Safe Global Business because of the quality of its masks.
“Safe Global works with 6 women, 3 of whom are gluers, self-taught women who have been given the opportunity to be trained and work in the mask production sector.
Safe Global is a developing structure that seeks to diversify its products with the production of gowns, gowns, but also over-gowns.
According to Ndeye Fatou Dieng, director of Safe Global Busines, the challenge is to market their products in Senegal as well as in the sub-region.
