Alpha is an engineer by profession. He has a successful international career spanning over 25 years.

Before joining ACT Afrique, he served as Managing Director of the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) of The Gambia, where he led the reform agenda supported by the World Bank and other International Organizations, to transform NAWEC into a sustainable company. Prior to that he worked for the African Development as a Water Sector Knowledge Management Consultant.

Before joining the African Development Bank, Alpha held leadership positions in various international consultancy firms and public institutions in Germany, UK and Hong Kong. Until 2016, he was an Associate Director and served as Head of Water Engineering in Hong Kong, at AECOM.

As a Consultant Alpha has advised and supported clients in both the public and private sector in Africa, Asia and Europe to deliver projects to high international standards and add value to their businesses. His experience cuts across a broad range of disciplines and sectors, including; water, energy, environment, infrastructure, and climate change adaptation. He has a successful track record in research and development (R&D), capacity building and knowledge management.

He studied Hydropower and water Engineering in China and holds an engineering degree (MSc) in Civil Engineering from Karlsruhe Technical University in Germany and is a member of FEANI. Alpha speaks English, German, French and Chinese (Mandarin).
